Preposition

Preposition

Assalamu'alaikum sahabat blogger.
Pada kali ini saya akan memberikan artikel tentang Preposition di dalam Bahasa Inggris. Ini adalah materi yang saya dapatkan selama saya kursus.

Yuk, simak materinya :)

A preposition is a word used to link nounspronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence. Prepositions are usually short words, and they are normally placed directly in front of nouns. In some cases, you’ll find prepositions in front of gerund verbs.

Preposotion is divided into two part.

1. Proposition Of Time
A preposition of time is a preposition that allows you to discuss a specific time period such as a date on the calendar, one of the days of the week, or the actual time something takes place. Prepositions of time are the same words as prepositions of place, however they are used in a different way. You can easily distinguish these prepositions, as they always discuss times rather than places.

  • On
This preposition of time is used to discuss certain days of the week or portions of days of the week, specifik dates, and special days such as "on New Year's Day"
Example: I have learn English Language on Friday with my teacher
  • In
This preposition of time is used to discuss months, seasons, years, centuries, general time of day, and longer periods of time such as "in the past"
Example : Bird go to their home in afternoon
  • At
This preposition of time is used to discuss clock times, holiday and festivals and other very specific time frames including exceptions, such as "at night"
    Example : I have get up at 4 o'clock

2. Proposition Of Place

A preposition of place is a preposition which is used to refer to a place where something or someone is located. There are only three prepositions of place, however they can be used to discuss an almost endless number of places.

  • in (didalam)
E.g. : The book is in the bag
  • on (diatas)
E.g. : The pan is on the table
  • behind (dibelakang)
E.g. : My handphone is behind my body
  • under (dibawah)
E.g. : The floor is under the lamp
  • in front of (di depan)
E.g. : The whiteboard is in front of the class
  • near (didekat)
    E.g. : I am near you
  • between (diantara)
E.g. : The book is between pan and board marker
  • beside / next to (disamping)
E.g. : She is stand beside me
  • across (di seberang)
E.g. : My house is across the bank

Nah, sekian dulu untuk artikel nya ya sahabat.
